[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "ImagineLearningLLC", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it represents an organization. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. - I am the Communications Director fo Imagine Learning LLC and I'm trying to set up our company's wikipedia page, which as far as we know does not exist. We recently (November 2021) brought all the companies we've acquired over the years together under one unified brand, Imagine Learning. Please let me know if I should follow a different procedure to set up my company's wikipedia page. Thank you. ImagineLearningLLC (talk) 16:30, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
- Several points to cover:
- Wikipedia does not have "company pages"; this is not a business directory. We have articles about companies; a subtle but important distinction. Articles are not owned or controlled by anyone, including their subjects.
- Your company is not entitled to have a Wikipedia article simply because your company exists. Companies are required to be notable by Wikipedia's definition of a notable company. Significant coverage from multiple reliable sources that are independent of the company itself are required to meet these criteria.
- Persons connected with a company have an inherent conflict of interest (COI) and should avoid attempting to create about it. While COI editing is not prohibited outright, it is very difficult for an affiliated party to write from the required neutral point of view, avoid submitting content considered to be promotional, and rely on information solely from third-party sources. We have little to no interest about what a company wishes to say about itself.
- Being on the company payroll, you are required to review and comply with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure policy.
- As already mentioned above, your username cannot represent a company; this alone is grounds for a block. Accounts are for individuals, not companies, organizations or groups of people. You will not be allowed to continue editing under this name. You will be required to choose a new name that represents you as an individual before being allowed to continue editing Wikipedia.

- Several points to cover:
Welcome!
[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
Clearly you have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that page.
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.
Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date.
New article creation can be difficult, but the Article Wizard can help you. The new user tutorial can help you avoid future problems. You can also ask for help at the TEAHOUSE and on IRC chatAgain, welcome! --Deepfriedokra (talk) 07:45, 10 March 2022 (UTC)

[edit]You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.
Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".
If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page.
You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text
{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.
Thank you. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 07:47, 10 March 2022 (UTC)per WP:CORPNAME
[edit]"Because Wikipedia's policy is that usernames should not be shared between more than one individual, the following types of usernames are not permitted because they imply shared use:
- Usernames that are simply names of companies or groups are not permitted (these also fall under Promotional names).
- Personal usernames that imply shared access, such as "Jack and Jill", are not permitted.
- Usernames that are names of posts within organizations, such as "Secretary of the XY Foundation", are not permitted, as such a post may be held by different persons at different times.
- However, usernames are acceptable if they contain a company or group name but are clearly intended to denote an individual person, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", "WidgetFan87", etc." --Deepfriedokra (talk) 07:49, 10 March 2022 (UTC)
