Information icon Hello, I'm Dudhhr. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to São Miguel Island have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. – dudhhr talk contribs (he/they) 03:01, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Dudhhr. I don't understand why it is removed. It is good information, and the link is to a site with more good information. Links from wikipedia are not dofollow, so I really don't understand this decision. There are other external links on the page that are less useful than the one I was sharing. Impulsive Addiction (talk) 03:19, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to São Miguel Island. Wikipedia is not a collection of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links may include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 03:14, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

As you said, links are nofollow, so I don't see why you are rejecting. It is a link to good information about São Miguel, just check it yourself. The page has other external links, actually, why is that? Honestly, I think my edit was adding value, you just rejected it because of it having a link without checking if the link was useful or not. Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.
