Welcome[edit]

Welcome!

Hello, Independent Journalist, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!  User_talk:Dlohcierekim 14:53, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Category renaming[edit]

Hi. Please do not empty categories such as Category:Urban Culture which are undergoing a Categories for deletion discussion. Doing so disrupts Wikipedia as the discussion then becomes fragmented, making it harder for us to function as a community. Thanks --Pak21 17:41, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do break cfd tags as you did in this edit. Doing so is vandalism and could get you blocked if you continue. --Pak21 17:57, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No personal attacks[edit]

Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on the contributor; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. --Pak21 18:04, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Manual of Style[edit]

There is a Manual of Style that editors use when formatting text, links, and media in an article. Could you please ensure that your contributions are consistent with this. For example, this edit, in which you demoted several headers, is inappropriate. Mindmatrix 15:06, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Intrusion on your user page[edit]

By the way, sorry to delete the category from your user page. As I mentioned in the edit summary, you should create a separate category for the user namespace; categories in the article namespace should only contain articles (and infrequently templates). This is done not just for neatness, but also to ensure that mirrors and forks aren't polluted with Wikipedia user pages. Mindmatrix 15:19, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

I noticed you removed the {{importance}} tag I placed on this article. The reason I placed it there is I wanted the article to state what made this store notable. I don't think you answered it. Please try to add this information or this article may be placed for a vote for deletion. Thanks. --YUL89YYZ 21:27, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Portland Farmers Market[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Portland Farmers Market, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Portland Farmers Market. B. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
