[edit]@Semsûrî: Hello. The edit made to Sanandaj and other Iranian cities was not a test. I am just like all the other editors here on Wikipedia, to present information in an unbiased, neutral point of view based on the data presented to us from our used sources. I am well aware of how to properly read a source, cite it, and present the information on Wikipedia. The current issue at hand revolves around our mutual source of Atlas of the Languages of Iran (ALI) and the linguistic information presented for various settlements. ALI's goal is to document the various languages and dialects spoken as a native language by the inhabitants of various settlements, across Iran. For every settlement, ALI reports the percentage of various languages and or dialects. If a particular city is highly diverse and or mixed, a "mixed" percentage is often reported. On no settlement has ALI ever reported a percentage of solely "Iranic" as you claim to be on the page for Sanandaj and various other Iranian cities. Here is a screenshot of the page with an added emphasis on the 4.95% you claim to be unspecified as "Iranic": https://i.imgur.com/TPFUZki.png. It states "Tehrāni type Persian 4.95%" word for word. Also to note, Tehrani type Persian is a variety of New Persian as seen classified on ALI's language classification page. I have checked the source from multiple devices and all the languages settings available on the ALI website. All of them state "Tehrani type Persian" for the various cities and settlements you edited to show "other" or "unspecified." It is not "other" or "unspecified," it is very clear. Also, this is linguistic date on the native language of various inhabitants. As you have done on various pages, you cannot, in an unbiased manner, use it to represent the ethnic composition of the inhabitants of a settlement, as many individual people of various ethnic backgrounds have shifted their native language to something else in the past 100 years. Native language and ethnic identity does not always line up. This is something ALI talks about. You are the one misconstruing references due to your own biases. This goes against the standards and rules set by Wikipedia. If you continue to do this, I will have to report you to admins. Ispah (talk) 10:10, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
- I checked the Imgur and you are right. For some reason I don't get that when I use IranAtlas. Sorry for the inconvenience. --Semsûrî (talk) 10:25, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
@Semsûrî: It seems there was a technical error. I'm glad you see the correct description now. Hopefully you will solve whatever was causing the issue. I will revert the previous incorrect changes you made. Best Ispah (talk) 10:28, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
- This is where the confusion stems from[1][2]. Yes, you should revert back to your edits. --Semsûrî (talk) 10:32, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
