- Do not remove Bruce Lee from this article. It is clearly cited that LeBell and Lee worked together. As for that bit about Japanese martial artists, that's not cited. --Jtalledo (talk) 10:21, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
- I don't know what your deal is, but the truth is, there are reliable sources that these two men knew each other and had a reciprocal student/teacher relationship. The link you have provided is not a reliable source, see Talk:Gene LeBell for additional discussion. --Jtalledo (talk) 13:17, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
- The video you linked is not reliable because it is a primary source. And second of all, nowhere in the video does it say that he was trained by "Japanese instructors" as you seem so keen to point out their nationality. All it says was that he has multiple instructors of indeterminate origin. And second, if you'd even bothered to look, the article already has a reliable source for the claims that he knew and exchanged knowledge with Bruce Lee. See http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1006387/2/index.htm. Lastly, do not delete other people's talk posts as you did with mine. --Jtalledo (talk) 09:59, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

The video I linked clearly shows Gene LeBell saying he was trained under different Judo teachers, no other person is more reliable than Gene LeBell himself, and Judo is definitely Japanese, it doesn't have to be a Japanese nationality to be a "Japanese martial art" instructor.
I am fascinated why this term "Japanese martial art instructor" is so dreadful to you.
As for the article you sourced, it is published by a third party, not Gene LeBell or anyone who ever worked with both Gene & Bruce, and more importantly, it only says they were training partners, it never referred there is a teacher/student relationship between them.
In fact, if you think that article is reliable, you should have noticed that it mentioned Gene LeBell travelled to Japan and worked with some Judo instructors there, so Gene LeBell DID trained with Japanese Judo instructors. Get over it.
