Hello! Thanks for your message. It wasn't me that reverted your edit, it was an automated bot. You weren't doing anything wrong, so just ignore the warning. Another editor added the "tone" tag to the top, which I agree with, the article needs work. But you personally don't have to do it all, others will help, which is what makes Wikipedia work. The most helpful thing that you could do is add some online sources about your father to the talk page of the article Talk:Francis Coudrill. If the sources aren't online, list book or magazine article titles. That way other editors can have a place to start when they edit your work. The photo you uploaded is really pretty awesome by the way. Do you own the copyright on the photo? Do you want me to add it to the article for you? Cheers. Dina 21:02, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Your Father's Article

[edit]

Hello, I know you didn't ask me, but I noticed your comment on Dina's user page, which is on my watchlist since I once had a brief conversation with her. Here's my two cents: Your father seems to be indeed quite notable for his contributions to animation. However, the article as written is highly problematic, as it makes use of the first person (always to be avoided) and makes clear what we call a POV agenda (in other words not written in a neutral style, but rather with a viewpoint or goal to be communicated). Furthermore, the only real information is a laudatory quote. He seems, to me at least, to be more than welcome to have an article here. However, what that article should communicate is things like date of birth, life information if this can be verified by a third party source (in other words, not yourself, as this constitutes original research), major works, impact on his field, any controversy associated with him, etc., all verified with sources cited. This information must be presented objectively just as it would in a paper encyclopedia. Any questions, please feel very free to ask me. Cheers, and I hope the weather has improved, --Tractorkingsfan 21:15, 10 December 2006 (UTC) P.S. to leave a message to someone, avoid the user page, simply click "discuss this page" when you arrive at their user page, as this will bring you directly to their talk page. The user page is more for personal information placed by the user. Thanks.[reply]

No problem, we will work on it for you. I agree that much information is often unfortunately false, especially with people who are not able to defend themselves. I'm sorry to hear of your health problems, my thoughts are with you; and we at WIkipedia work to get the truth out there. --Tractorkingsfan 22:04, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. I am very, very impressed by the work I have seen of yours. I'm no art critic (I'm actually a 25 year old slacker) and you have doubtless been complimented by far more accomplished people. But it's got to be good to have some new fans, which I think you are gaining here on Wikipedia. Cheers and good health, --Tractorkingsfan 06:31, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image source problem with Image:Hank and whirligig cast.jpg

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Hank and whirligig cast.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:35, 13 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Shell babelfish 19:35, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
