Advice

[edit]

As reviewing administrator, I ask you to please take a look at the page Paxen Learning in connection with the requirements at our FAQ about businesses. The article appears much too promotional. The first step will be to change to a plainer more encyclopedic style, without adjectives praising the company. Just describe what it does, and what the products do. Make certain that all material is supported by substantial coverage by third party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases. Check in particular the statistics about improvement--unless they have been published in a reliable source, they may not have sufficient foundation. If you use material from US government websites, indicate with quotation marks and an exact reference for the parts you have taken. Do not use material from other websites, unless there is a copyright release as explained in the FAQ. In any case, material from such sites is unlikely to be in an appropriate manner for here.

I have, by the way, suggested the speedy deletion of the company's products, Community All-Stars,About Face (education), Jump Start (education) and Forward March, and deleted the pages on GED Plus and GED Xcelerator that others have already proposed for such deletion. These articles on the various products are totally unsupportable as promotional. Try to get one good article. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a promotional medium. No matter how meritorious the products, it needs to have sufficient 3rd party sources to meet our requirements for encyclopedic suitability.

As an additional guide to what is expected, I suggest our |guide to writing Wikipedia articles, our page about notability, and our page about Conflict of Interest

I will be back in a few days to delete remaining promotional content, and then to check the references to see if there is enough left to support an article at all. I think there probably is, if you do it carefully. DGG (talk) 03:53, 29 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Xcelerator_Logo_BW.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Xcelerator_Logo_BW.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 16:40, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Paxen Learning, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your draft article, Draft:Western Trucking

[edit]

Hello, Jackamo814. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Western Trucking".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Hhkohh (talk) 09:44, 17 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
