What was that edit and un-edit of my talk page about? --Orange Mike 20:09, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It seems Beeradvocate has a few enemies, this IP 65.204.124.34 was adding untruthful statements as well as Thecrazyd. Also Beeradvocate should have its own page, we are not just a beer ratings website but a consumer group for beer. Look for more trolls on wiki because they know they can edit on a whim and there is a small group that are acting up now.

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) This applies to edits as well as to creation of original articles. --Orange Mike 20:51, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Got It

[edit]

I understand that but that is not what I am getting at ... if you look at what is going on you will notice a few people that hate beer advocate are adding false claims to the page. Look here:

http://beermapping.com/forum/index.php?topic=152.0

Put two and two together.

So what? The information is either false or true. Provide documentation. If you feel this person is vandalizing the section, report them according to the WP:Vandalism guidelines. In the meantime, don't re-edit the piece to resemble a publicity handout for the site, you and your brother, etc. --Orange Mike 21:07, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia's own TOS claims that personal information will not be given out on the site- why was someone's personal email and IP posted- without any actions from admins who posted after that?

Apologies

[edit]

Hey, sorry - it's totally my bad there. I've just been watching recent changes and reverting/chasing vandals since midnight so I am now assuming that everyone is trying to mess up articles. I read your edit through tinted glasses at first, but after some tea I realised that I was probably over reacting. Sorry again. ...adam... (talkcontributions) 01:09, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
