Welcome!

Hello, JamesHess, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Help me!

[edit]

Please help me with...

JamesHess (talk) 20:59, 3 September 2018 (UTC) Whoever deleted what I edited on the "1939 Papal Conclave" article did me wrong. I simply stated the obvious from the Apostolic Constitution "Vacante Apostolicae Sedis" dated 12/8/1945 and issued by Pius XII. He abolished the signature requirement for the cardinal electors and thereby made it possible for a cardinal to cast the deciding vote for himself. That is clear from the source itself. There was no additional source to cite, even though I tried to put the reference in. Your system would not let me cite a source already cited.[reply]

I resent this and will not contribute anything to Wikipedia until this is changed. Nor will I make any further financial contributions. Get your facts right before you jump to delete what someone contributed who knows considerably more about a given subject than form and system editors. You could at least have sent me an email, giving me time to respond.

Resentment is not going to help.
First you need to find out why your edits were reverted. Probably the best way to do this is to open a discussion on the talk page Talk:Papal conclave, 1939 and explain, perhaps similar to how you've explained here, the reasoning behind your edits. You should probably address why they do not constitute original research. {{Ping}} the reverting editor to invite them into the discussion. If the two of you, and any other editors who are watching the page, can't come to a resolution, you may need to follow the the steps at dispute resolution to get a wider set of opinions.
You should at least start out by assuming that both you and the other editors are trying get the best encyclopedic wording for the article: right level of detail, neutral point-of-view, etc.
None of your contributions have been lost, they are still there in the history of the article and can be restored if that's the agreement you come to with your fellow editors. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 23:02, 3 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
