If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jackie Monahan, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Conflict of interest and paid editing

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Jcassaro44. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Jackie Monahan, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Melcous (talk) 23:13, 31 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi and thanks for your message on my talk page. The first thing you need to do is declare your conflict of interest, and in particular if you are editing as part of your employment, the fact that you are being paid to edit wikipedia. There is an explanation on how to do that here.

Second, you need to know that wikipedia will not promote your client. What you added basically read like a press release. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia not a place to sing your client's praises. Have a read of some other good articles to see the kinds of article that we are looking for.

Once you are clear on that, you have a couple of options. If you go to this page and click the blue button it will direct you to either create a draft - which can then be worked on over time and reviewed by a neutral editor to see whether it is acceptable; or you can request someone else write an article - in which case other editors will decide if they think the person is notable enough for an article. Either way, you should be aware that an article will not be accepted unless it can be demonstrated that the person meet's wikpedia's criteria for notability, there are independent, reliable, secondary sources to verify what is written, and the article is written in a way that is neutral and not promotional.

Please take some time to read the articles I have linked to here in blue. It is better to slow down and make sure you understand wikipedia's guidelines rather than rushing to create something that is inappropriate and will get deleted and could even lead to you being blocked from editing. Thanks, Melcous (talk) 23:48, 31 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Jackie Monahan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Re-creation of Jackie Monahan

[edit]

The page was deleted, and then you went and re-created it. Why? Please read the message I left you above - you should consider either creating a draft or requesting someone else creates the article, but continuing to do the same thing will lead to the same result, it will be deleted.
