Information icon Hello, I'm Eteethan. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —the one you made with this edit to List of sperm whale strandings— because it didn’t appear constructive to me. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Eteethan(talk) 20:09, 3 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

edit summaries

[edit]

are just that, and when you write small essays in there, it is lost. Always better (if you have a need to have detailed explanation of an edit) to place the information on the talk page of the item - there it is better. By the logic that many users do not have the item on their watchlist, they will not have the unique experience of seeing the full summary as part of the joys of watchlist exposure, the important news/knowledge imparted gets squashed into the history of the edits of that page, and as a result is always truncated in view... Always best to keep edit summaries small and short. JarrahTree 01:50, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
