What article?

[edit]

This is what you posted on my talk page...

I'm sorry about the confusion, but I didn't add any new information on that page. I only corrected grammatical errors that I saw while I was reading the article. I'm not sure if it held me responsible for the entire page, but I didn't change anything that would make the information different.

What are you referring to? Also, please sign your posts with ~~~~. Bearly541 18:28, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Destiny's Child

[edit]

Hi there. I'm Orane (aka Journalist), one of the Administrators of Wikipedia. I commend your effort at editing articles, but please desist from adding inflated sales figures to the "Destiny's Child" article. The group, by most reports, have not sold 100 million, and the source that you are so determined to cite (Kelly Rowland's website) does not support this figure. Thank you. Orane (talkcont.) 05:18, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the website that you gave me is sourced, so you can replace the text in the article if you want to. However, I still have strong doubts about the validity of this figure, for the following reasons:
  1. it wasn't written by Kelly Rowland (singers usually don't author their own websites).
  2. information such as these are hardly considered scholarly, which is what Wikipedia aims for (the way it is written, it's more for publicity/promotion, with a lot of exaggeration)
  3. They have not sold 100 million— that's common sense. Orane (talkcont.) 01:09, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

United World Chart

[edit]

Please do not add the United World Chart, or any other chart listed in WP:BADCHARTS, to any Wikipedia articles. Thank you.—Kww(talk) 13:44, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's what I figured. It's been getting deleted from articles for a long time, but I convinced people to make it an official guideline just because so many people were adding bad charts just because they didn't know.—Kww(talk) 18:16, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
