Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Jehobbs, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Quoting

[edit]

Hi! I wanted to drop a quick note - when quoting, make sure that the quote is properly attributed to the person or outlet so that readers know who said the statement. Also, you should ideally only include a quote if you can't state it in your own words and if the quote is very vital to the understanding of the article. (IE, re-writing it would detract from the statement.) The quote from the letter is good, but I don't know that the BBC quote is really necessary.
