Managing a conflict of interest[edit]
Hello, Jhkeasey44403043. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Parallel (2024 film), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Mike Allen 00:16, 30 March 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks, Mike! As a WGA screenwriter and producer whose name is appearing all over the web given that I’m being hired to write major films — the most recent being The Barracks Thief by National Medal of the Arts award by President Obama I only inserted the truth with minimal insertions. I’m a licensed attorney (albeit non-practicing) so I am not concerned about any conflicts of interest on a Wikipedia page. I just want it accurate. And even my company, MindRiot Entertainment (www.mindriotentertainment.com) was not accurately listed on the Parallel website. Thanks! Given the nature of what I do for a living (i.e. write movies for very famous people, movies that are now being physically produced) and also provide pro-bono services on high profile cases, I just want to make sure everything is simple, clean, and correct. For instance, a very large press release will soon be released about my production company MindRiot Entertainment that will be global. Thanks!
- With thumbs as I’m making dinner with my family…
