Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Rubber duck, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Of ship and shoes and rubber ducks....

[edit]

Hi, Jodie,

The biggest problem with the first edit was that Wikipedia has had to develop very strict rules concerning conflict of interest. Fundamentally speaking, adding links to your blog is contrary to the policies we've had to develop to keep spammers from completely choking up the Wiki. While that means that people who are not trying to spam (such as yourself) are restricted, it was the only way we could hope to keep some control on spam. What you could do is open a new section on the talk page and tell the other editors about your blog: that way, it can be discussed as a community and no conflict of interest will occur.

One other problem is that you put your signature on the actual article instead of on the talk page. This is actually a fairly minor error, but it is something we try to prevent.

Thanks for understanding and working with us, and I hope you enjoy your experiences as a Wikipedian (even though I've had to make the beginning less pleasant). Justin Eiler (talk) 15:31, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
