@Randykitty: As I was trying to create this article entitled Doctor Who chronology, I was informed me that you had deleted an identically entitled page at precisely 16:16, 2 May 2014. Furthermore, the bot enjoined me to "please first contact the deleting administrator", before proceeding to create said page. I am accordingly complying with the instructions provided, and I hope to receive word from you soon. Kind regards. Joe Gatt (talk) 18:53, 22 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Randykitty: From what I can gather the deletion discussion actually was for an article entitled List of Doctor Who serials by setting, which could be different in scope from the article that I am suggesting. Since Wikipedia is not allowing me to see the original article, I cannot compare my article with it, to examine this for myself. Secondly, I note that the deletion discussion does indeed make reference to an article entitled Chronology of the Doctor Who universe, but in that particular nomination, the verdict had been "no consensus". I am quite familiar with the Doctor Who wikia (which in fact I have referenced), and whilst I have no intention of copying that wikia onto here, however, given the large number of Doctor Who articles on Wikipedia, it seems to me that an article explaining how all those myriad Doctor Who stories fit together in one coherent whole, is sorely needed ! • You misunderstood my PS: I had said that I didn't know which wikia was appropriate but then noticed that your third ref was the appropriate wikia. The deleted chronology article (for which the second AfD had ended in "no consensus"), was actually the very same article as the "list" in the AfD mentioned above (at one point, the "chronology" article was moved to the "list" name, leaving only a redirect, so after the "list" was deleted, the "chronology was a redirect to a deleted article and was for this reason also deleted; hope you can still follow this). In short, by whatever name (list or chronology), the community has ressoundingly !voted to delete this article. If you still want to go ahead with this project, you will have to go through deletion review and convince the community that you have sufficient independent reliable sources to justify such a move. Personally I think that's a waste of valuable time, but the choice is yours. Hope this explains. --Randykitty (talk) 17:50, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Randykitty: Hi! I have read with interest the recommended deletion discussion. I think that the original article was significantly different from the one that I am actually proposing. The original article was an effort to build up a coherent chronology of Doctor Who stories. But I have NO similar intention of building such a chronology here on Wikipedia, but only wish to point out the problems involved with building such a chronology, and the results obtained in this area by OTHER researchers in this field OUTSIDE of Wikipedia (thence my references). I feel therefore that there is a REAL difference between what I am trying to write about, and what has been attempted in the original article that you have deleted.
