Soviet war in Afghanistan

Hye, I came across ur account and found that you are a specialist in Indian military and strategic topics, I was going through this page Soviet war in Afghanistan, and i was a little surprised to know that it mentions India as a part of Soviet Afghan war(not even wildly sourced), I have corrected it for the moment but i am not an established user so I was thinking can you help me to make sure that it is not reverted again. Thank You —Preceding unsigned comment added by Magicalpoem (talkcontribs) 15:18, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

That was too technical for me, you mean that India should not be mentioned there, right?Magicalpoem (talk) 19:20, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Purple Line (Namma Metro) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Tommy (msg) 19:54, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

The article Green Line (Namma Metro) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No actual content, just an infobox, no sources cited.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Beeblebrox (talk) 20:14, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

I have nominated Purple Line (Namma Metro), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Purple Line (Namma Metro). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Guy (Help!) 07:25, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

Indian Right to Information Act

Please see the discussion here. Your understanding of the Right to Information Act is a bit skew whiff - it does not make any reference to a right to fair use of pictures taken by or for the Indian Government. In addition, images uploaded to Wikipedia which are not free must conform to Wikipedia's own non free content policy. I have altered the license and rationale on File:GSLV1.jpg accordingly (it's the one I came across) as you need to explain in the FUR why no free image could be taken, and the license should be pd-promotional. Please check other images you may have uploaded as you may need to alter the license/FUR for others also.--Elen of the Roads (talk) 14:21, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Cover tinkle.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 18:41, 9 May 2010 (UTC)

Category:Delhi Metro stations

I see that you recently created Category:Delhi Metro Stations but there already existed Category:Delhi Metro stations, which I created months back. So, I request you to redirect the category (with consensus) to Category:Delhi Metro stations. Thank you.-- WorLD8115 (TalK) 08:56, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Bhuvanscreenshot.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Bhuvanscreenshot.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:07, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Use "Infobox station"

The Template:Infobox Delhi Metro station you created (which you copied from my edited version of Infobox Vancouver SkyTrain station), is only a pass through to Template:Infobox station. The whole idea of my work on the SkyTrain articles is to replace the custom infobox with the standard one. There is no point in creating an infobox with a limited number of parameters, when you are calling another one, like you have done. You should simply start with the standard Infobox station. Let me know if you still don't understand. Secondarywaltz (talk) 14:32, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Delhi Metro Station Template

Yes, I did create the template from the Vancouver Skytrain. The style in which the names of the stations are displayed in Delhi Metro follows a similar style to that of Vancouver which is of lighter color. Eg: [1] Hence I thought I could use that template as a basis to build DM's template. Regards --Johnxxx9 (talk) 19:44, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Yes, that is my point. The template you have created is only a pass through of parameters to Template:Infobox station it does not do anything. You are better to use "Infobox station", because it gives you the full range of parameters, rather than the limited number that you have chosen to pass on. The code simply reads a parameter with one name and passes it to a differently named parameter for "Infobox station" to display. Not much point in that unless, as existed for SkyTrain, a large amount of data was already enter in the redundant template. You are starting from a blank slate, so use the full template, and enter the style there. Secondarywaltz (talk) 21:10, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
See Noida City Centre (Delhi Metro) for an example. You don't have to use or include parameters that are not relevant. You could also define the color used in a template, and have it called for in each article. This way you can fine tune and not have to replace every individual occurance. The Blue Line, in the infobox, is defined from "WMATA color" template, Blue. that's another railway! Make your own. Secondarywaltz (talk) 00:04, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

Sorry

I am sorry for trying to help, but there seems to be quite a mess here. Good luck! Secondarywaltz (talk) 22:31, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

Color

Look at Web colors and see what you want. Secondarywaltz (talk) 16:58, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Open the article Web colors and try to match a safe color from there. Secondarywaltz (talk) 17:46, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
I have created Template:Delhi Metro color and I have redefined the style template color as the default from there. Secondarywaltz (talk) 18:32, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Civil Lines (Delhi Metro) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Delhi metro stations

Hi. Even I was thinking of creating the articles for each and every station but consistently delayed it as there are more than 90 stations and articles existed for only 4 stations, I guess. Yes, I can help in creating the articles and are you foll. a pattern in creating the stations.i.e., line wise or alphabetical or just at randomn. I say we can divide the work of creating stations by line. As for the upgradation of existing articles can be done after all the station articles are created. Flickr has lots of pics on stations which can be imported. It's great that you have already created several articles and the rem. can be divided among ourselves or else two articles will be created for the same station. Thank you-- WorLD8115 (TalK) 11:43, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

If you have created the stations for Red and Yellow then I will start creating the articles for Blue line stations. Meanwhile you can work on the Green line stations and also on the Blue Line template as it has to be in tune other templates.Thanks-- WorLD8115 (TalK) 12:05, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
Fine then, I will create the Green Line stations but please leave the Anand Vihar station for me. I will to create that and then you can make changes for templates.-- WorLD8115 (TalK) 12:15, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
I have created the articles for Green Line metro stations with parking facilities. In the Template:Delhi Metro: Green Line you might want to include the parking also. Refer Page 2 for parking details for Green line stations. Thank You-- WorLD8115 (TalK) 17:59, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

I have categorised all the available pics of Delhi Metro in commons:Category:Delhi Metro and you can use the pics while creating articles for Blue Line stations. Will give the parking details for stations later. Thanks-- WorLD8115 (TalK) 17:14, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

For parking details of older stations you can refer this.-- WorLD8115 (TalK) 05:50, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

List of Delhi Metro stations

Hi. I have completely modified the List of Delhi metro stations article. See if you like it.-- WorLD8115 (TalK) 05:03, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Delhi metro stations

Hi Johnxxx9, I saw the long list of metro stations you created recently. Unfortunately, none of them is referenced, contrary to the main article, Delhi Metro. Even articles for which notability is more or less automatically assumed, like villages or railway stations, a reference proving its existence is usually required. This one would be sufficient but I didn't put it in because you might have a different preference. Could you please single out one reference to put into all those stubs? I can help you with the implementation if you want.

Afterwards, I would nominate you for the WP:Autoreviewer flag if you do not disagree, then your page creations would not have to be patrolled. Opinions? --Pgallert (talk) 10:03, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

2010 Kashmir Unrest

Hi, I was wondering if u can help with this page Quit Kashmir Movement (2010) or suggest me who to ask help from. Its a page created by some net jihaadi i guess with all the biased sources and one sided story. Also it is named unappropriately as QUIT INDIA...it should be named as Kashmir Unrest like 2008 Tibetan unrest page. plz help me editing this page.Mdmday (talk) 19:06, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi somebody is again starting that propaganda page and deleting a non biased 2010 Kashmir unrest page, can u plz help me?Mdmday (talk) 20:28, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

It can't be deleted. The renaming of the article was discussed and result was an approval. I am aware of this user Kashmirspeaks who keeps creating that article and presents biased opinions. The next time he does that, I would report it to an admin. As for the content of the article, users have to ensure it is neutral. Id somebody is not letting that, then I'll report them under vandalizing. --Johnxxx9 (talk) 08:40, 22 September 2010 (UTC)

It would be much appreciated if you would like to participate in the various ongoing discussions at the reorganisation page and the WikiProject Spaceflight talk page. If you are a member of one of WP:SPACEFLIGHT's child projects but not WP:SPACEFLIGHT itself, it would also be very useful if you could please add your name to the member list here. Many thanks!

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:H-2TransferVehicle-1.jpg.

Thank you. Skier Dude (talk 08:07, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
