Canisianum Roman Catholic High School[edit]


Canisianum RCHS is located in northern Namibia near Outapi town in Anamulenge consituency and enclosed within the Anamulenge catholic church mission. The school has a chapel where learners go for a holly mass every monday and wensday for blessings before classes. It was origionaly called Anamulenge High school and it was established in 1972 by an Europian missionary called st Peter Canisius. It was closed down during the war between SWAPO[1] and the South African defence force and it was reopened in 2000 after independence and renamed Canisianum Roman Catholic High School in honour of its founder, under the new principal Mr.Werner Kalipi.

The school is well suported by the government and the catholic church thats why it has adequate resources including a library, a science laboratory and a computer lab. It has excellent staff,comprising of motivated Namibian teachers,volunteers and nuns. As a result the passing rate of both grade 10 and 12 is mostly above 85% and the school was ranked 7th nationwide.[2]
