About the edits you made today

[edit]

Hey Jpopmoretrivia, thanks for the edits you made to several music articles today! While a lot of the information you added is useful to the subjects of the articles, I wanted to offer some guidance on how you can make those changes more encyclopedic in nature, which is one of our goals when editing Wikipedia. I noticed you added "personnel" sections to several articles about songs where you wrote something to the effect of "credits taken from this source". Rather than an explanatory line in the article, you might instead add a citation to the source of the information, check out WP:CITE for more about it. Another example is unravel (TK song) where you mentioned the song's popularity in different regions. Unless this particular fact is something considered informative to an imagined reader who is not an expert on the subject of the article, it doesn't really merit a spot on Wikipedia. You might want to go through WP:NPOV, especially the section on due and undue weight.

That being said, I'm not going to revert any of your edits except for the last one I mentioned. I would urge you to add in-line citations for your other edits as well; left as they are now, they could be challenged or removed by other editors. Keep up the good work, and I hope you have fun continuing to contribute to Wikipedia! Feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you have questions about this, or ask experienced editors any other questions you might have at the Teahouse.
