Regarding your advertising of your newsletter

Hi! I've noticed that on your userpage, you advertise prices and such for your newsletter. While I have nothing against your business that you have here, the fact of the matter is that Wikipedia is not a website hosting provider. Advertising services that you sell that have nothing to do with Wikipedia is really not kosher, and should be done on other webhosting. The rest of your userpage is fine (in fact, I should steal that McDonald's userbox! :P) but you should probably remove the advertising from the top there. And when I say that, I mean it as benignly and yet forcefully as possible; if you refuse to remove it I'll have to remove it for you, because again, it's not what's supposed to be on your userpage. I just don't want to violate your right to edit your own userpage. :) Thanks, Mo0[talk] 21:31, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

Advertising on articles you create

Please note that articles on Wikipedia are created, edited and maintained by all editors jointly. As such you should not sign an article and especially should not put a logo on it. I've deleted your logo - and also some images which appear to be copyright violations - and would suggest you read again the guidelines on how to write articles on Wikipedia. You should especially note that an article must have a Neutral Point of View and should only be written about things that are already notable. You local grocery store or schoolteacher are unlikely to fall into that category. --AlisonW 21:46, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

About "Randalls"

Look, you made a BIG mistake with deleting the Randalls page. It's not a LOCAL grocery store! It's actually rivals with H-E-B! And you have a H-E-B article, what's wrong with the Randalls article? It's not a small chain. I don't know where you all live, but this covers a grocery store that needs an article. JuWiki-4:50 PM (CT)

I've no idea what "H-E-B" is either, and I'd guess that they aren't notable either. Wikipedia is a *world-wide* project and because we don't want or need articles on every shop on every street in the world (they'd change too often to be useful and be of less than marginal interest to anyone not living nearby) we set a standard for notability that means what readers of our articles find here is of interest to them. Whilst a world-wide chain or major internationally-known brands are likely to deserve an article, many other small companies really do not. Randalls (and H-E-B whatever it is) do not. 14:17, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
Actually, Randall's Food Markets and H-E-B are both quite notable. Unless AlisonW has the list of potential articles that is considered notable, he/she should not be considered the notability spokesperson for the project. Thanks, Postoak 21:37, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
