Judith Orloff

[edit]

Hello. I see that you have created an article about Judith Orloff. There are two things that might cause problems with the article. First it seems likely, based on your username, that you may in fact be the subject of the article. In that case it is important that you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies in regards to conflict of interest. Second, the references that are cited in the article are not specific enough to be considered reliable. Wikipedia has strict rules about biographies of living people. You might want to read about those policies so that the article does not get deleted for being in violation of that very important policy. Please ask if you have any questions. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 00:26, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Muka: I revised the reference section but the format of the article is based on one that I read for Wayne Dryer in Wikipedia. It is difficult for me to see where there is a conflict of interest in mine and not in his. (Judith Orloff (talk) 17:49, 18 October 2008 (UTC))[reply]

I guess the first question should be, are you Judith Orloff? If you are, then a conflict of interest exists if you have written an article about yourself. Autobiographies are generally discouraged. It's usually better to let someone else write an article about you. You need to be careful that the article maintains a neutral point of view. If you are not Judith Orloff, then there is no conflict of interest. Your improvements to the references are good, but if you're interested in improving them further, have a look at WP:REF. The easier it is for a reader to find the sources, the better. Biographies of living persons must be accurate and verifiable - 100% - so references are very important. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 18:36, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, I am not Judith Orloff. My name is actually Rhonda Bryant and I wrote the article about Judith and created this page. I do know that all the information in it is correct and have read the newspaper stories on her that I quoted from. I will go back, check everything once more and see if I can add more information to the references. I did my best to keep a neutral point of view and again formatted it similar to the article on Wayne Dyer. Judith has caused (and still does)controversy in main-stream psychiatry with her views on how intuition can play a part in therapy. I feel that this is an important element to her as a person and what she has dealt with in her career. All the other information about her education, where she has worked, her career and the books she has written are all correct and basic knowledge. Can you let me know if there is anything in particular that you feel is self promoting. (Judith Orloff (talk) 06:46, 12 November 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Muka: I made additional changes to the references including making them all uniform in their format and all the necessary information to check on them. Can you please review it and hopefully remove the windows that indicate they need additional information. Thank you.(Judith Orloff (talk) 06:46, 12 November 2008 (UTC))[reply]
