JUSTICE S R MISRA Justice Misra was born on 1.5.1935. He obtained his law degree from Allahabad University. After obtaining Law Degree he was enrolled as an Advocate on 3.8.1959 and joined the chamber of Shri R.B. Misra, Advocate who later on became the Judge of this Court and also of the Supreme Court. Justice Shree Rang Misra practiced mainly on the civil side and had a flourishing practice and had been Senior Lawyer for the state , GORAKNATH Mandir, Gorakpur Development Authority etc He was appointed as permanent Judge of Allahabad High Court on 1.2.1992. On 28.4.1994 he was transferred to Calcutta as High Court Judge from where he retired on 30.4.1997.
After retirement Justice Misra was appointed as President of Dealer Selection Board by the Petroleum Ministry for grant of dealership in U.P. He was also appointed as Chairman of the Enquiry Commission to probe the violence in Aligarh Muslim University. He was also appointed as Chairman of the Enquiry Commission by the State Government to examine aspects relating to transparency in Taj Expressway Project. He was member of Executive Council of Sampoornanand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya.
Two sons of Justice Misra is Mr Ajay Kumar Misra and Hon’ble Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra. Mr Ajay Kumar Misra is Senior Advocate and two term Additional Advocate General of Uttar Pradesh currently representing U.P. at Supreme Court of India while the younger son Mr Justice Ashwani Kumar Misra, is a senior High Court Judge of Uttar Pradesh and former Senior Advocate .
