Welcome
[edit]Welcome!
Hello, JustinasG, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one of your contributions does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.
There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}}
on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Marasmusine (talk) 13:57, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
Hi JustinasG, I have a few concerns regarding this article. Firstly, a lot of the text you have added to this article appears to be copied from this brochure. Wikipedia has strict policies on WP:Neutral point of view and copyright. Secondly, in your edit summary, you mentioned that you are making comparisons between MagicDraw and other software. Whilst a summary of the software's features is fine (if written neutrally), please be aware that we are not a publisher of original content (WP:OR) - articles need to be based on secondary, reliable sources.
If you need help with citations then let me know what your sources are and I can help. Otherwise I would appreciate it if you write your first draft in your userspace, at User:JustinasG/MagicDraw UML for example. Thanks, Marasmusine (talk) 11:59, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
- Regarding citations, there's a full how-to at Wikipedia:Citing sources, but I can best show you by putting in the first one for you. Give me a list of what sources you've got and I'll guide you through. Marasmusine (talk) 12:33, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
Maybe we can start with the first sentence from Teamwork brochure. All other comparison material are collected in .doc documents. JustinasG (talk) 12:40, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
- It would be a good idea to select some material from secondary sources - Lots of books mention it. We should pick a few that we can actually preview online, and that tell us something significant about the software.
- I would avoid citing promotional material altogether.
- However, it is reasonable to cite the software documentation to describe some of the features. I will add an empty citation to the article that you can fill in. Marasmusine (talk) 13:02, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
Oh, and you can use Template:cite book for citing a book, similar to the "cite web" example I put in. Good luck, I'll check in on you later! Marasmusine (talk) 13:35, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
Thank you very much. You help me a lot. I updated my article, added several references, I hope I will add more of it later. Also I removed the part which was from brochure. Also I added more links to other articles or web pages. I hope it will be okey for now. Please, if you find something wrong, tell me, I will try to fix it ASAP. Thank you very much!!! JustinasG (talk) 13:42, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
- Heya, I've done the move, but also note that I removed one reference that was just a press release. Thanks, Marasmusine (talk) 07:16, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
As I understand you, a new MagicDraw article is available in MagicDraw and in MagicDraw_UML. Maybe more fixes I need to do for this article or everything is okey for now? :) Thanks JustinasG (talk) 07:27, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
- I'll take a closer look later today and let you know! Marasmusine (talk) 07:43, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Magicdraw screen.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Magicdraw screen.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude2 (talk) 03:51, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
