Anuraga araLithu was then remade as Gharana Mogudu (Telugu: ఘరానా మొగుడు) film with Chiranjeevi, Nagma in the lead roles. The movie was directed by K. Raghavendra Rao and was a senstational hit. It was released on April 9, 1992. The movie was the first telugu film to gross over 100 million rupees. It made Chiranjeevi the highest paid actor in India, prompting him to be catapulted to cover pages of all national weekly magazines and India Today had a caption, "" Bigger Than Bachchan"".
It was also remade as Mannan in Tamil starring Rajinikanth, Kushboo Sundar, Manorama, Pandari Bai, Goundamani, Vijayashanti and Visu.T
There was a hindi remake of this movie named "Laadla" in which Anil Kapoor and Sridevi played the lead roles. It was not as commercially successful as southern versions.
