Hello KarenNower. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Royal Society of Medicine, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:KarenNower. Hi, thank you for your message. Are you able to advise how to update the page as what it has been changed to is now incorrect. The Royal Society of Medicine is not a society, it is a registered charity. The changes I made are factual. Is it possible to update the information to reflect what is factually correct please e.g. in line with the website https://www.rsm.ac.uk/?

Hello Karen,
You can see our guide to making edit requests when you have a conflict of interest here. Basically, disclose your COI, and then make suggestions on the article's talk page. You can also use the Edit Request Wizard, which may be easier. Editors without a conflict of interest are then able to view your suggestions and decide whether to implement them or not. I've responded on the talk page there. Thank you for going about this the right way! The key thing is that Wikipedia articles need to be neutral and they need to sound neutral; PR-style writing isn't encyclopedic in tone and should be avoided.
