Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1

[edit]

So who is George?--Bbb23 (talk) 13:28, 15 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

George Weasley, twin brother to Fred. Older brother to Ron and Ginny Weasley. Younger brother of Bill and Charlie Weasley. Son of Arthur and Molly Weasley. In the book, Snape is the death eater who hits George with Sectumsempra spell, which takes off his left ear. Kbr1656 (talk) 15:08, 15 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Doesn't it seem kind of jarring, though, that George comes into the plot out of nowhere with no context? He's not in the cast, either.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:19, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think so. As far as the film goes, which the article we are discussing is the film, they don't even show Mad-Eye Moody get killed, but they show George coming home with his head covered in blood. There's a moment when everyone is gathered around his unconscious body, seemingly unsure whether or not he will even live. Once he awakens, Bill adds to the tension and says, "Mad-Eye's dead." So to include one, but not the other doesn't seem to make sense since they are weaved together in the main action sequence of the early portion of the film. The fact that he isn't listed in the cast is odd, considering he is quite an essential character in all of the books/films. But I don't even want to get into a cast list discussion because some people get heated with those. Kbr1656 (talk) 02:20, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Frankly, I think we (someone?) should either add some context as to who George is in the plot, or add him to the cast section, or both. Otherwise, a reader (like me, who's even seen the film but didn't remember), won't know who he is.--Bbb23 (talk) 02:22, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
