GourmetAnarchy

[edit]

Please unblock him. His explanation of what happened is 100% accurate. You have my word that he was never anyone's sockpuppet, and he won't be causing any problems. I have no idea whether he wants to use Wikipedia any more, but he uses that alias elsewhere and this blemish on his record is unfair. Keepscases 22:19, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wasn't it so quick block? The annon only got 2 warning notices !!. At least 3 to 4 warning notices required for blocking--NAHID 18:12, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

They already got a last warning (bv), so I'm not going to add another one. The last warning, regardless of any previous warnings, tells the user that they'll be blocked immediately after they vandalize again. Since the vandalism wasn't very serious, I gave 12 hours instead of the usual 24. -- King of Hearts 22:11, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A. A. Shmuk

[edit]

Hello,

A. A. Shmuk is a real person. I even own one of his books, "The chemistry and technology of tobacco". Please google for A. A. Shmuk and you will find references to it. KarlHallon 18:48, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see him there, but with only 56 Google results; he is probably not notable enough for inclusion on Wikipedia. -- King of 18:50, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, sure, but please then change the "Suspected hoax" to something else, could you? KarlHallon 18:56, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've taken the article to AFD. -- King of 17:15, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

hi there

[edit]

My real name is Ronelio Ramil, how come my name here in Wikipedia is "protected". thanks.Ronelio 19:04, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean by "protected"? Are you unable to edit? If so, which pages? -- King of 17:19, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I dunno, try to search for ronelio ramil in wikipedia and a stab saying that it is protected from any editting. can you remove that please. thanks Ronelio 19:58, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Asian Games logo.svg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Asian Games logo.svg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. GourmetAnarchy, part two

[edit]

Why are you ignoring me? We have a user who was banned unfairly, and who then provided a 100% true explanation. The administrator who answered the appeal sent me back to you. The account GourmetAnarchy was falsely accused of being a sockpuppet of, doesn't even exist anymore. What needs to be done to remedy this situation? Keepscases 19:08, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Which admin are you talking about? -- King of 19:09, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
See User Talk: GourmetAnarchy, you issued the original block and Yamla answered the appeal. While some limited vandalism did take place on that day as a result of an angry Fark.com flash mob, you have my word that GourmetAnarchy had nothing to do with that (and again, his explanation is completely accurate). Keepscases 19:22, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
When did Yamla send you back to me? -- King of 19:24, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • shrug* Sometime in the last week or two. Please unblock the guy, he is blocked in error, if he causes any trouble you can block *me* for all I care, because it won't happen. Keepscases 23:57, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You're being too vague. By what method (posting somewhere [please specify] on Wikipedia, email, etc.) did he contact you? -- King of 20:45, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE: GA nomination of Wind power in Texas

[edit]

The article Wind power in Texas you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold. It hasn't failed because it's basically a good article, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Wind power in Texas for things needed to be addressed. King of 19:12, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reviewing. I have made some improvements. See what you think. -- Johnfos 21:55, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It would be better if you could add a section on the history/development of wind power in Texas and a section on how certain conditions (like weather) may affect the efficiency of the wind turbines. Also, as I said before, pictures would help. -- King of 22:38, 11 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What you are asking for now is a major expansion of the article, but originally you said only minor changes were needed. Most unfair of you to change your mind like that. -- Johnfos 06:11, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello. I was a little distressed to see that you considered my posting information about Dwayne Cote as inappropriate. He is not a member of my immediate family and I do not gain by putting information about him on the internet. I did see that he was mentioned in two different articles on Wikipedia the first being this one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nova_Scotians and another about Cape Breton Fiddlers. When I added the page I simply put his name, birth place and birth date and figured if someone found a page that was started they might add information to it. He is in fact one of the top fiddlers in Canada and has played all over the world. The information that I put up there can be found in any internet search on Dwayne. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nsjacq (talkcontribs) 22:01, August 15, 2007

I'm sorry; whenever I see an article that just talks about a person being born, I delete it immediately because it doesn't assert notability. You may recreate the article as long as you assert his notability, accomplishments, etc. -- King of 19:59, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fight Club

[edit]

An IP Address has posted personal information and whatnot at Fight Club. Should such edits be deleted/removed from the history? -WarthogDemon 23:36, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In many cases, the posting is not serious enough to get removed. However, if you really want it removed, you should see a user with oversight access. -- King of 00:03, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well none of it has anything remotely to do with me, so I'll leave it be then. Thanks for your time anyway. :) -WarthogDemon 00:09, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
