Premier League winners' medal

[edit]

Unless it has changed, five appearances is the minimum requirement for a winners' medal. Mattythewhite (talk) 21:40, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's changed from 13, then. When Man Utd won the title in 2007, Henrik Larsson was granted special dispensation to receive a medal because he'd only played 7 games...

Also, Rodwell has only made 4 appearances, so either way he doesn't qualify. Can you cite your info? 5 doesn't sound right at all, and I need to know, for my own peace of mind... Kjt1981 (talk) 22:13, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

STOP PRESS!!! - it's ten, according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_footballers_with_a_Premier_League_winner%27s_medal Kjt1981 (talk) 22:16, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The Premier League themselves say 10 but this piece from The Daily Telegraph states Rodwell has been awarded a medal as the benchmark has been lowered to five appearances for this season... so apparently the PL document is out of date, but it would be nice to see if from the horse's mouth. BTW Rodwell has made five league apps this season, the stats on his page are out of date. Mattythewhite (talk) 22:39, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, then - he can have his medal. He'll want something to show for his time at City, because Lord knows there'll be precious little footage of him actually playing for them... Kjt1981 (talk) 22:47, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
