ONAYENA VILLAGE
[edit]Onayena in the Oshikoto Region of North-Central Namibia! is 6km walk to the nearest tar road!it’s about 20 km (about 12.5 miles).it is very close to Etosha National Park, which is a world-famous wildlife preserve [1]. The village's population has grown significantly over recent years, dominated by the Ovambo language speaking people and a small group of san people. In Onayena the village of Omandongo is where the first Finnish missionaries arrived in 1870, including Nakambale Martti Rautanen, and it is also where the Ondonga kings Shikongo shaKalulu and Nehale lyaMpingana were buried. It is the home village of many prominent people in Namibia, such as the multi-award winning kwaito musician and producer The Dogg and honorable minister Dr Nicky Iyambo [2].
