I don't think I have the citation on hand, but the Bacardi-Cuba dispute over Havana Club has even gone to WTO; the dispute is at least, if not longer, than 10 years. I'm in a hurry now, but I'll give you the source later today.--Samuel di Curtisi di Salvadori 14:24, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
- All the WTO case here. --Samuel di Curtisi di Salvadori 16:01, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
- For your reference: That WTO case did not on the face appear to be related to the Havana Club dispute, but it is. The disputed US law was pretty much enacted on Bacardi's behalf such that the Cuban Havaba Club--halfly owned by Pernod Ricard--cannot renew their US trademark rights. As it has been noted, the only case when this law was invoked was related to Havana Club. Also this is why Bacardi released their Havana Club in 2006, as this is the time when the Cuban party's US trademark registration expired.--Samuel di Curtisi di Salvadori 21:38, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
