Wrestling

There is real wrestling, where it is an athletic contest. That is seen in high schools and colleges and in the olympics. Then there is TV wrestling, wherein performers pretend to be beating each other up. It is a fine entertainment, and has been a staple of TV since the 1940's. Do you seriously believe that the drama is all for real? That the wrestlers in most TV wrestling entertainment are not told ahead of time who will win? This is not to say anything against their being athletes, and I acknowledge that people sometimes get hurt, but the drama looks fake. That said, I will refrain from mentioning my views about its fakeness in AFDs, just as I would not tell kids that Santa isn't real. Edison 15:47, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

I revised my AFDs to strike out "fake." I watched TV wrestling a lot decades ago, and there was always a wrestler pulling some stunt like throwing some mysterious substance in his opponents eyes to "blind " him, or the manager climbing into the ring to whack a combatant over the head. There was lots of fake blood. There was always a get even grudge match. There were exotic costumes and personnas. The thing they have going now is a way bigger budget and more sponsorship, not to mention the spinoff merchandise. I agree it is a fine piece of entertainment. Edison 21:53, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Full Impact Pro

Well, judging from the previous version of the article, it looks like the page was prodded first as a "Non notable wrestling promotion, no third party sources, fails WP:CORP" and then deleted five days later per policy. From what I see, there aren't many sources to use for this type of article, and it seems to fail WP:CORP. Many of the Google hits I find just make a brief mention of Full Impact Pro, and I got only 20,000 case-sensitive Google hits. If you can show me other 3rd-party sources that describe the history of the wrestling circuit and other such info, that would be appreciated. For now, I believe the deletion should stand, but if you show me otherwise, I will restore the article. Thanks, Nishkid64 01:26, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
