Reasons of Deletion of Category: Places in Turkish-Occupied Cyprus[edit]

I am supporting the view of occupation however to say the truth it is in our POV. --User:KRBN 12:01, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Really? I do not want to be a hypocrite, but you do not have a banner saying that on your User page. Do you?

in wikipedia it doesn't matter if it is recognized by UN or not. Also I don't understand the reason of this category. There is the category:Geography of Cyprus and Cities and towns of Cyprus. The places which they belong in occupied areas belong also in category:Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. --User:KRBN 12:01, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree but we both agree that Kyrenia/Girne, Famagusta/Gazimağusa belong to a special category (set) , in which Laranaca, Limassol do not belong, right? Why name the category TRNC only? Isn't that one sited? --Kupirijo 12:29, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That category has that name because according to wiki rules an article or category must be under the name which is self-called despite the arguments or recognition. --User:KRBN 12:01, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

But Greek-Cypriots also call it "Occupied Areas". Are you saying we are only allowed to call things the way they are self-called? Then the Byzantine Empire is a POV? Byzantines called themselves Romans? Byzantine was NOT what they were self-called? Then I should go and move the Byzantine Empire article to Roman Empire. How do you know that I am not a Turkish Cypriot calling it Occupied Areas. Isn't that self-called? What about calling it Places in Turkish-Controlled Cyprus? Places in Cyprus not under the Control of Cyprus Republic? Does that pass your (wikipedia's) threshold of what constitutes NPOV? --Kupirijo 12:29, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
