Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Kyledickinson, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Adam and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

October 2016 reversions

[edit]

Sorry, the references you added to Isle of Wight and Newtownards are links to sites that take Wikipedia content and reformat it. This means that they cannot be used as references.

When you are searching for reference information on the web, you will often find multiple supposedly independent sites giving very similarly worded information. Because Wikipedia information is intended to be available for repurposing, this kind of reuse is definitely allowed. But it means you have to look at the source carefully to figure out whether it's an independent reliable source.

But I see you're learning good citation techniques and even some tricky things like {{!}}. Keep on working at it!  —jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 09:43, 10 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
