Hello, I'm C.Fred. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Lil Tay, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. As the note states, the birth date is based on reporting in independent sourcing. That is preferred over statements by the subject on YouTube videos. Irrelevant, when one source flat out says she was born July 29, 2007, and Vanity Fair says she turned 11 in 2018. Again, Vanity Fair is a reliable source with a solid editorial team, as opposed to whoever Joey Gaming is. —C.Fred (talk) 22:26, 31 January 2024 (UTC)

It doesn't matter what she says, because people aren't considered reliable sources for their own ages. As people can lie about their ages. Which is why we must rely on secondary sources. You're completely misinterpreting the problem here. People's edits – including yours – are being reverted because they change the information about her age. Yet they don't provide a reliable source to support the changes. People who repeatedly engage in this type of behaviour may eventually be blocked from editing the page. If you want to change the information on her page, you will have to provide a source that is deemed reliable by Wikipedia. Whether the secondary sources are correct or not is irrelevant in this case.
