This page is your Talk page. Here you can receive messages from other Wikipedians and discuss things with them. At the end of your messages you should put your signature, by signing with four ~~~~ or by pressing the button in the editor bar—shown here in the picture. Do not sign in the articles themselves. See When signatures should and should not be used for more information.

I see that you are trying to add an image. If you need any help, just reply here. Regards.  Velella  Velella Talk   10:21, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I've given up since I'm not sure about its copyright status. I found it on the website of one of her recent publishers (http://www.persephonebooks.co.uk/pages/authors/index.asp?id=26) but I don't know where they got it from. I might leave this to someone more experienced! LambsC (talk) 10:34, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Neutral point of view

[edit]

You wrote on your userpage, "I hope to be able to increase public awareness of many writers who are coming back into print". Keep in mind, Wikipedia is not here to promote even the noblest of causes. If these authors are not already notable, you can't post about them here in an effort to make them notable. You must not cross the line from retrieving obscure information (one of the things we do best), to outright lobbying and advertising. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:03, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that I said 'increase' awareness not 'create'. Of course these authors are notable. They were well-respected in their day, and are being reprinted for a reason. If there was no record of them other than my assertions then you'd be right in questioning their notability, but when they are mentioned in critical works, republished in the present day, and read and enjoyed by numerous people, then I see no reason to question their notability. What I am endeavouring to do is to 'retrieve obscure information', not create that information for myself.LambsC (talk) 09:41, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article List of authors published by Persephone Books is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of authors published by Persephone Books until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Orange Mike | Talk 01:52, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free files in your user space

[edit]

Hey there LambsC, thank you for your contributions. I am a bot, alerting you that non-free files are not allowed in user or talk space. I removed some files I found on User:LambsC/Manja (novel). In the future, please refrain from adding fair-use files to your user-space drafts or your talk page.

  • See a log of files removed today here.
  • Shut off the bot here.
  • Report errors here.
  • If you have any questions, place a {{helpme}} template, along with your question, beneath this message.

Thank you, -- DASHBot (talk) 05:00, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

role accounts are not permitted here

[edit]

According to an e-mail received earlier today, this account is being used as a role account by more than one employee of Persephone Books, and is being used to edit the article about that firm as well. "I've just started at Persephone Books and have been asked to take over my predecessor's account and keep the company's Wikipedia page up to date."--Orange Mike | Talk 12:41, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for being used as a role account for COI edits. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
