your edit to PMP[edit]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in PMP. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. --Dirk Beetstra T C 14:23, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You have been temporarily blocked from editing Wikipedia because of disruptive edits. You are free to make constructive edits after the block has expired, but please note that vandalism, including page blanking or addition of random text, spam, or deliberate misinformation; privacy violations; personal attacks; and repeated and blatant violations of WP:NPOV will not be tolerated. – Elisson • T • C • 15:36, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

{unblock|PMP is a very common acronym used for pseudomyxoma peritonei, a rare cancer. My addition was appropriate, as it is for other support group networks that you allow to post links disease names and acronyms. Please review the entire website www.rare-cancer.org and the forums. It is a wealth of information for rare cancer and tumor patients and a great support resource. And, believe me, as a rare cancer patient myself, this info is hard to find.}

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

You are unblocked because I hope you've got the message: wikipedia is an encyclopedia, i.e., a collection of encyclopedia articles. Adding links into dozens of articles without adding any useful text is considered spam. People can use google themselves and find other useful websites themselves. Once again, please add actual and verifiable information (see wikipedia:Verifiability and WP:CITE) into articles. `'mikkanarxi 16:10, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: Please see Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a web directory. External links are only appropriate when cited as an article reference or the subject of the article itself. Further violations of our Wikipedia:External links and Wikipedia:Notability (web) policies may result in your block being reinstated. --  Netsnipe  ►  16:15, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

You were unblocked with the specific request not to add external links to your website. Our external links policy states clearly which sites may be suitable. Given that you have ignored the terms of your previous unblocking I have now disabled your account. JFW | T@lk 18:23, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I added a website link that has extensive information about the topic in which I added the link. If you look through the website itself, you will see that it does not sell anything. It is merely an informational website with copyrighted content. I am not sure what is different about this link, versus the other links listed under the topic.

Decline reason:

You were unblocked on the condition that you not link to your own web site again. You linked to your own web site again. As it says in the guidelines linked above, we don't link to our own web sites, even if we really believe them to be useful. If it is genuinely the best link to use, someone other than yourself will add it. — FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 22:50, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
