A tag has been placed on Marcus Charles, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hello Lauren, what you wrote at Contested deletion sounds reasonable, and I took the speediness out of the deletion notice, so you have more leisure to improve it. As it stands, it still violates WP:PROMOTION, and it needs a major rewrite to make itq neutral, rather than sound like a CV. Since you appear to have not worked on any other articles, I recommend you join or notify a related WikiProject, such as WikiProject Seattle, where you will find other editors who should be able to help you get this article in encyclopedia shape. — Sebastian 08:12, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and you might want to check the Wikipedia:Meetup/Seattle/Editing workshop 2-13-2015 out. Cheers, — Sebastian 08:15, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your change of the maintenance tags on Marcus Charles

[edit]

Hello Lauren, did you see my messages in the section above? From your recent edits it appears you are confused about the function of the maintenance tag at the top of the article. By changing the maintenance tag, you effectively moved the article back in the highest danger zone, where it can be deleted at any moment. I assume that is not what you wanted, and I undid that change. Or do you indeed want the article deleted?

If you care about Wikipedia, I recommend you to gain some editing practice with other articles; and since there just fortunately happens to be a workshop in your area, I'd check that one out first. Coming here only to create one article about a living person usually ends in frustration. — Sebastian 17:45, 12 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
