IP Block
[edit]I apologise for blocking you and I am pleased you have registered, then there an be no confusion. At least one other editor felt about your posts the same way I did as in So Socafan gets community banned and an IP user comes to defend him? Hi there Socafan. You're not fooling anything.[1] the timing of your comment, picking up where the other user had left off was not good. Please see discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Adminship abuse in order to push POV and the immediately following discussion of a community ban. Your timing to make comments covering the same ground as the banned user was not good, if inadvertant. Hence the misundertanding--A Y Arktos\talk 23:27, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
- I give you that, the blocking could be a little (little) bit understandable, though i gave you some links in my postings to verify my standpoint and sincerity. But definitely not understandable are the repeated deletings of my comments/postings on August the 31d. You really need to reconsider the atmosphere on that discussion's page. Leclerq 00:02, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed, the atmosphere there is poisonous - my constant wish is that people would focus on content and not discussion of motives of editors. Editing from an IP in that environment is difficult, hence I assume the reversions. Once again thank you for registering. Regards--A Y Arktos\talk 00:47, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
Armstrong
[edit]Let's all take a deep breath and calm down, then. The reason you were thought to be a sock of Socafan is an accident of timing; you arrived just as Socafan was indef-blocked for disruption and serial violation of WP:BLP. I am completely satisfied that you are not Socafan, not least because you actually engage with other editors instead of simply repeating your case. So I'm sure that your contributions will be welcome on the Armstrong article. Calton was attacked rather unpleasantly by Socafan so he is a bit sore right now, but don't let that provoke you, eh? Anyway, welcome to en:, I hope you come to like it here :-) Just zis Guy you know? 09:03, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
- Like i said, i don't want to freak out here, for i don't do this in german wikipedia either. I'm a calm guy. And the blocking could be understandable as an error, too. But i really didn't expect someone to delete all of my my discussion postings, only because they said "this article lacks quality". This is and remains unacceptable, if your version of wikipedia isn't going totally other ways than ours. Leclerq 11:55, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
- I entirely agree. I think this was a simple misunderstanding, though, which I believe you have accepted. I certainly would not endorse mass deletion of Talk postings in the normal course of things. Anyway, we know the history and now it's time to move on I think. Thanks for being understanding. I have archived out the trolling and nonsense, hopefully constructive debate can now resume. Just zis Guy you know? 12:23, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
- Sounds reasonable to me, thank you. Leclerq 13:42, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Leclerq. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Leclerq~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
