Correct tournament names

[edit]

At Tomáš Berdych career statistics Italian Open is the correct tournament name, not Rome Masters. The others are correct also. Fyunck(click) (talk) 17:27, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Check the Italian Open page. Rome Masters is a correct alternative name. It's better to name all the Masters 1000 tournaments in the same way (Masters instead of Open).--LennyDH (talk) 17:30, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It's what we use here by consensus at wikipedia to be consistent. It also is the direct page linkage. Please revert it back and try to follow the guidelines at Tennis Project. Thanks. Fyunck(click) (talk) 17:48, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
On the Federer career statictics page, the Masters 1000 tournaments are just referred to by city. I assume you're going to correct that page too or is this just nitpicking?--LennyDH (talk) 17:54, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
If I see it, I correct it. But there are thousands of pages to find. Now that i know I'll correct the federer page. Thanks. Fyunck(click) (talk) 18:02, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Another question: The direct page linkage of Miami Open is Miami Masters. Shouldn't Miami Masters be used then instead of Miami Open?--LennyDH (talk) 18:07, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You are correct. My bad there. The problem with Miami is it should be the Miami Open, but there was already a defunct Miami Open (tennis) being used at wikipedia. We were forced to use Miami Masters. Since the event is officially called in English the Miami Open we may have to move the old defunct tournament. Until that time, Miami Masters is what we should use. Thanks for the correction. OK... administrators have cleared the path and allowed the change. It is now formally the Miami Open. Fyunck(click) (talk) 18:39, 18 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
