Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.

Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. You have violated one or more of our rules, including rules against adding spam links, posting advertisements, using Wikipedia for promotion, and editing inappropriately with a conflict of interest. Although Wikipedia has a great many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, it is considered inappropriate for such groups to use Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. See Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals here, you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

If you do intend to make contributions that are in line with Wikipedia's policies, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} below this message box.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
See also Wikipedia:Appealing a block for more information. TNXMan 19:10, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you!

Will you agree not to edit the article yourself, but instead propose the changes on the talk page Talk:Liberty Tax Service? You have a conflict of interest that makes it inappropriate for you to make substantive changes... and I'm little willing to trust you to decide what changes will be uncontroversial, after you basically replaced the article with an advertisement. "We were blocked from editing because our original username, Liberty Tax Service, was against Wikipedia policy and our changes appeared promotional. I would first like to apologize for not reading your policy and procedures before creating an account to edit the Liberty Tax Service page. We were honestly trying to update the page with accurate information. The second sentence in the first paragraph is misleading. I think it would better serve the readers if the second sentence was taken out and replaced with the following: Liberty Tax Service started in Canada September 1, 1997 when John Hewitt, co-founder of Jackson Hewitt, acquired a Canadian tax franchisor, U&R Tax Depot. In 1998, the company became Liberty Tax Service, and opened 5 offices in the United States. By 1999, Liberty Tax Service operated 35 offices in seven markets across the country. Liberty Tax Service is headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia."
According to the Username policy , accounts are not allowed to be shared. According to your statement it seems as though you are sharing your account with other people. SparksBoy (talk) 21:20, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Correcting info about your company[edit]

Hi, it seems that you might be the subject of one of our articles and are displeased with some of the contents. See Wikipedia:Contact us/Article problem/Factual error (from subject) for a general overview of ways to get problems fixed (as well as an email address).

The email address is info-en-q@wikimedia.org. The first thing you might be asked to do is to privately establish your identity. Toddst1 (talk) 23:32, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
