Welcome

[edit]

Hello Limitingflame1, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! A tag has been placed on Image:UNIVERSITY PRIMARY 661.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Sorry! that template is so impersonal!

Caption text

Hello! and welcome to wikipedia! Thank you so much for all the work you are doing on Drake University I had to add that speedy deletion tag because the image was corrupt, if you could upload it again, that would be great

also another little thing, when your inserting an image use:

Because it puts it in a nice little box out of the way, like this:

One thing to also note, which people do quite often is that you don't have to use

<br />

Just press enter a couple of times!!

Cheers!! PhilB ~ T/C 19:35, 8 November 2007 (UTC) p.s. one thing I use when I'm not sure is the cheat sheet[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:DrakeSeal.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:DrakeSeal.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 02:29, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly unfree Image:THiNK.jpg

[edit]

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:THiNK.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is disputed. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the image description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. --Chris.B (talk) 12:19, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:DrakeSm.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

 • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
 • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 07:16, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Joe Don Rooney - June 2009.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Peripitus (Talk) 03:47, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NowCommons: File:Oldmaindrake.jpg

[edit]

File:Oldmaindrake.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Oldmaindrake.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: . Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 06:38, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
