Vasant Honavar

[edit]

The article asserts sufficient importance to not be eligible for CSD A7. COI is a possible problem but not a deletion reason itself.--Tikiwont (talk) 13:18, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

But it looks like it is a self written article. Localsales (talk) 13:28, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If it does, there are other tags of Wikipedia:Template messages/Disputes that might apply. But that isn't itself a criterion for speedy deletion per lack of importance. It's also been around for three years and is not of particular vanity, so in case of doubts it needs to go to WP:AfD. Above some links to help you settle in further. --Tikiwont (talk) 13:40, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, It's ok. he is notable.

Speedy deletion of Jagdish N. Srivastava

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Jagdish N. Srivastava requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. Dr. Vikram Pandit

[edit]

"The bank ultimately scrapped the plan under pressure from Obama" is from MSNBC. Localsales (talk) You need to provide a cite. Anyway, these TV channels pass dozens of opinions every day which are rather frivolous and should not make their way to an encyclopaedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.193.234.253 (talk) 17:08, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, that is not true. If that is the case, how one could verify everything that someone writes. MSNBC like other networks is highly repuated in the US and abroad. There is nothing that Dr. Pandit will loose something because of this statement - I hope it will not bother his personality. Yes, it could be a biased one. What is the big deal of this Encyclopedea compared to these networks? We find good things as well some bad things in every thing.

Proposed deletion of CR Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article CR Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Promotional article that imparts no real information about the Institute.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.  Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 11:39, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
