Plumes
[edit]Hi, Lsquier99. I've taken a look at your draft and I have a few comments/questions:
- What is the "influential opportunity magazine"? Is that their full name? Do they have a wikipedia article or is there an archive giving us any information about the contest?
- Your source on the section heading "About the Author" links to an EZproxy page for your university. It is ok to cite sources behind a paywall, but the link to those sources should be something that a reader will experience the same way.
- Georgia Douglas Johnson has a wikipedia article and we link to it, so this article doesn't need a section on "about the author" unless it provides specific context for the play. The same with other plays (which I removed in an edit). A reader lands on the Plumes page to learn about the play, so we should strive as much as possible to make the content about that. I know this means you're going to end up with a pretty short article, but that's ok! Short, well referenced articles are valuable to wikipedia.
- Likewise, the section on the Harlem Renaissance should be removed or rewritten to be about the impact of/importance to the play or HR (as the case may be, I haven't read your sources). Like the author, if the reader is given a link to explore that particular topic, they probably only need a brief summary of the relevant parts if at all on the page.
- I also think you should ask one of your classmates to check this draft for typos or grammatical errors.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any trouble with the above or need a hand. Adam (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:42, 14 April 2016 (UTC)
