{{helpme}} can an administrator delete the redirect from the page Ester Boserup to Ester Böserup. the spelling with ö is wrong and the redirect was vandalism. i have tried to do it myself, but apparently it is not possible. sorry i am a beginner. thanks

I left the redirect up, as it may be useful to anyone looking for that page. Thanks for contributing! Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 22:36, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, this way if someone types in that by mistake, they get taken to the right page. Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 21:28, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds great! If you need any help along the way feel free to ask. Cheers, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! 21:48, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

i would like to know why there is a page called ester böserup which is definitedly a wrong spelling for boserup. i also would like to know why people suggested merging a correctly spelled name page to an incorrectly spelled one, and why someone even redirected it to the wrongly spelled one claiming it to be the proper way to spell it. i am not in condition to judge the contents of both articles, unless it is obvious nonsense. if there is some important information in the böserup page which does not occur in the boserup one, please do a proper editing by boserup. the böserup page should not exist altoghether. is there any way to delete it, as is referring to boserup in its contents and only creates confusion. i see the existence of such a page as vandalism. correct me if i am mistaken. it is enough to look at her books to confirm that i am right about the spelling. if some not danish editor has a fantasy vision on how danish names should be spelled they should check first. thank you for your help in cleaning up the mess this is causing, all the best ludo86

Hi! I think this is what I would call a "content dispute". That is, the best way to solve this is probably by discussion with the other people involved. You can post messages on the talk pages of the articles. If nobody objects or replies for a few days, and if you're not aware of anyone likely to object, then maybe nobody else objects to your proposed change and you can then put in a request at Wikipedia:Requested page moves to have the page moved to the name you say is correct. You can discuss things with the users who have edited those pages. The best place to ask your question about why it was redirected is not via the helpme template, which brings users like me who know about Wikipedia but who don't know about that article, but rather the best place is either the talk page of one of the articles, or the user talk page of the user who made the redirect. You can click "history" at the top of the article or redirect, see who made it a redirect, click on "talk" beside their name to get to their talk page, and leave them a message with a question. You and the other editors of the page should be able to talk things over and reach an agreement about what to do. I hope this message is helpful for you. --Coppertwig (talk) 18:12, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome! Feel free to post messages on my talk page if you have any other questions about how to use Wikipedia. (Or you can use the helpme template again, or the help desk.) --Coppertwig (talk) 20:10, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
