  • Hi Lukas. While you are free to ask any editor to adopt you, there are many editors with a wide range of expertise in many areas of the project who are actively looking to adopt newer editors. If you are specifically interested in learning about wikicode and general editing, and not about Slipknot, Rezter may not be the ideal choice. You can find out more at WP:ADOPT. I'm not really in the market for a full-time adoptee, but I'm certainly happy to answer any questions you have on my talk page.Deiz talk 01:40, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption

[edit]

I am willing to adopt you if you would be happy to accept my offer. I understand Deiz's reservations because the majority of my edits relate to Slipknot but I feel I have a good understanding of how to follow Wikipedias rules and regulations, admittedly I would be more suited to adopting users who want to edit musical articles, but I am still confident I could help any user learn more about Wikipedia. So yeah, if you want to accept my offer, get back to me dude. REZTER TALK ø 11:52, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm pretty sure that the reason you can't use this account is because it is a separate Wiki, which basically means that you have to create a separate account for it. OK, well I check Wikipedia like most days, so if you have ANY problems contact me at my talk page and I'll get back to you soon. Thanks for accepting my offer dude. Oh and yeah, is there anything specifically you think I could help you with to help you understand Wikipedia better? REZTER TALK ø 22:15, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Primarily I feel the largest problem you have is with sources. You haven't claimed any sources for the whole article. See WP:CITING, that explains the importance of citing your claims and WP:CIT explains how you should display your sources with templates. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask me. OK well first of all, when linking to a flash website, you clearly CAN'T link to a specific section so if you are going to use it as a source just link to the website. Secondly in accordance with WP:VER, self-published sources are generally not deemed suitable. As well as the fact that it is your only source for the whole article as I'm pretty sure it's frowned upon to base a whole article on one source. So I advise that you go to Google and try find some sources, maybe go to your local library and look up some books or CDs and DVDs. A lot of the my time spent working on Wikipedia articles is just looking for sources and then looking for the information haha, you may believe the information is true but you have to prove it when editing Wikipedia. I have put the GNU tag on there for you however, next time you are uploading media for Wikipedia, consider uploading it to Wikimedia Commons. From your statement I am under the impression your mum has allowed you to publish that photo to the public domain because of that, I know it would be eligible for Wikimedia Commons. Testing...

...and this is how Lukas found out, that Wikipedia unlinks links that link to the same page as the link is on. Lots of links there.. Lukas (talk) 23:38, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
