Re Thomas Pooley and the Wadbrook family

Hi Lynwood, Bill Wadbrook here: I happen to be fascinated by linguistic-cultural shatter-zones and the jostlings of peoples, too (you didn't mention Suedtirol/Alto Adige, or the mess on Italy's northeast frontier). I wanted to thank you for your gracious response to my comment on Wadbrooks -- I do in fact think June Sampson does make a remark very much in the vein you presented -- maybe hers was the throwaway! And finally, I have always taken "hereditary king" etc to refer to a person who by lines of descent would be e.g. king, but in political/institutional fact is not regnant: I took this to be the usage intended in 'A Scandal in Bohemia.' Caleys

Hello: my edit of Caleys around the same time as you was coincidental. I was using it to look up a fact and noticed it had an "unsourced" tag, so added John Lewis's website as a source as that contains information about the now-closed store. The fact that someone is unhappy with a source is not a reason not to use it as a reference on Wikipedia, especially in an article which is devoid of any verification. If you know of other sources or references which should be added to expand the article, or present a balanced view, then you can add them to the article. Bazza (talk) 15:24, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

Talk page policy

I have had various conversations with other editors, mainly on their talk pages, and I notice that several of them have adopted the policy described above. It seems to work well and it keeps conversations in one place. Of course, you have to keep your eye on your watchlist. LynwoodF (talk) 10:09, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
