Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Lyricmoonstar, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Hi @Lyricmoonstar: thanks for the question. If you have a really open-ended class assignment, and it appears that you may, you have few limitations on what article you'd like to work on. It may be helpful to choose something relevant to your field of interest, or a topic that you already have some background knowledge of. There's a brief exercise on where to look for articles, as well as a more extensive training on looking for articles to work on, and which to avoid. I hope these resources are helpful! Hi @Lyricmoonstar: we have lots of trainings to help you with your educational assignment [1]. Here is the one about sandboxes. You can find your sandbox by clicking the "sandbox" link at the top right corner of the screen when you're logged in. Thanks, Elysia (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:31, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
