Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Reactlogonew.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 21:03, 16 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Magman7, welcome to Wikipedia! Are you in any way affiliated with React Global or React Magazine? If that is the case, please have a look at our Conflict of interest guidelines and be aware that Wikipedia is not a free advertising space. Regards, High on a tree (talk) 19:33, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I have been visiting ReactMag since late 2002, was one of their first message board members and have subsequently got to know a few of their staff through the boards. I approached them to write an article about them on wikipedia and got their blessing. If this is perceived as a conflict of interests, I understand. I have removed any text that could be construed as advertising to make the article as factual as possible. I hope this is OK.(talk)

Thanks for your understanding. It is not that you are absolutely prohibited to edit such an article, it is just that experience has shown that it is hard to follow Wikipedia's Neutral point of view principle if one is too close to the subject; especially for newbies. - For hard facts like circulation numbers, it is usually OK to cite the company themselves (if it is made clear from whom the information is coming). AfD nomination of React Magazine

[edit]

An editor has nominated React Magazine, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/React Magazine and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:32, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there.

Please don't nominate articles for deletion on the grounds that a) an article you have contributed to has been deleted or b) related articles have not been deleted.

While it's frustrating to have an article that has been edited in good faith (and with full disclosure) deleted, disrupting other articles to make a point is not the solution.

Your best bet is to take the matter up on Wikipedia:Deletion review.
