2021 Boston City Council election
[edit]Hi, I saw that you made a recent edit to 2021 Boston City Council election intended to indicate (as I understand the edit summary) that a candidate running for both city council and mayor has been prohibited. However, there was no source provided. I have searched without success for anything from the City of Boston or reported in media to substantiate that a candidate may not currently run for both offices. The best I could find was a discussion on a message board (thus not a reliable source for Wikipedia) where one user stated they thought it wasn't allowed and another user said that such a rule was considered but never actually enacted. So I wanted to reach out to you here to see if you know of a reliable source, or can track down a reliable source, for such a rule? I updated the "Announcements" section to more narrowly state for now what is sourced: that three incumbent councillors have announced their candidacies, and that there is a precedence (Charles Yancy in 2013) for someone to run for both offices. Thanks. Dmoore5556 (talk) 05:49, 24 March 2021 (UTC)
