[edit]Hello, I'm Reshadp. I noticed that you recently removed content from William Vernon without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. - Please see my reply to the last person who revised my revisions. Hello, If you are going to describe William Vernon as a 'Smuggler' you must put it in context and explain his role in smuggling tea to the colonies in advance of the Boston Tea Party. Reference Mary Beth Notion's book, 1774-The Long Year of Revolution, pages 5 and 6. There is no mention of his "smuggling" activities in the body of the paragraph following "Smuggler and Slave Trader" yet you allow it in the title. It's actually a fascinating story. William Vernon was a Patriot who funded Benjamin Franklin's trip to France to buys arms to start the American Revolution among other things. I have no COI when the facts are properly presented. - Why not just add the reference then? Why continue to remove “smuggler” if you know it’s correct? GraziePrego (talk) 10:54, 26 July 2023 (UTC)
- The whole page is in need revision It's factually incorrect in many places. I've just started my revisions, if you will allow me I promise that you will find them properly factual. Margot Vernon (talk) 22:58, 27 July 2023 (UTC)

Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living persons, as you did with this edit to William Vernon. Thank you. Yoshi24517 (Chat) (Very Busy) 22:57, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
- The information is common knowledge about William Vernon. Margot Vernon (talk) 23:01, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
- Very much not how wikipedia works. Your earlier edits were particularly blatant where you just flat-out removed references to slave trading. GraziePrego (talk) 01:16, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
- Tell me how it works and I will follow your direction. I am not particularly concerned about anything except correcting errors. The whole page is a mess that needs to be reorganized. Thanks, Margot Vernon Margot Vernon (talk) 01:42, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
- You are not correcting errors, you are removing fully referenced content and replacing it with large paragraphs with no references. You cannot make changes without providing references for it.
- Secondly, you cannot remove fully referenced content without an exceptional explanation. Your explanations have been “everyone knows this is incorrect”.
- Third, it is very clear you have a conflict of interest based on your username, so it is doubtful whether you should be touching this page at all. GraziePrego (talk) 02:25, 28 July 2023 (UTC)

[edit]You very obviously have a conflict of interest WP:COI in your edits to William Vernon, based on your username. You are also very obviously attempting to remove content that reflects badly on him, despite it being historical fact. You must immediately cease doing this, as it is effectively vandalism and I shall request administrator intervention. GraziePrego (talk) 05:48, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
